NATURAL STONE WALLS

Definition

New England stone walls are constructed of naturally occurring stones of this area. These walls are characterize by their large variety of sizes and shapes, laid in a dry (mortar-less) method. They are constructed on a firm base, and built to stand the test of time.

GRANITE AND MANUFACTURED STEPS

Some of the steps on this page are manufactured to look natural.

FEATURED PROJECTS

Marble Surface

ROCKY POINT, DEPOT POND:

This waterfront project includes a perched beach, a stone wall, and a stone reinforced slope.  The waterfront walls were constructed of old granite, new granite, naturally occurring stones, and wood timbers on top of the new wall.

The project was started in November of 2020, and completed in May of 2021.

MERRYMEETING LAKE

This wall was heavily damaged by ice over the past 10 years.  The project was re-engineered and approved by the NHDES.  The new design permits a 2:1 slope as apposed to the previous permit of a 1:1 slope.  The new design also specifies larger/rounder stones to mitigate future ice damage.

This project was started in November '21.  This type of work has to be done during draw down of the lake.  On 03.21.22 the season began and I started completion of the wall.  The project was completed in April.

MERRYMEETING LAKE

This project required the removal of the bottom step, install new granite steps, and build a stone wall to support the new patio.
